Our Mission

The Reinsch Pierce Family Center for Breast Health at Virginia Hospital Center provides the most advanced and dedicated care of the patient with breast disease. The first breast center in the State of Virginia to be nationally-certified by the American College of Surgeons’ National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers, we combine state-of-the-art breast disease diagnosis and management with a multidisciplinary team approach, matching our comprehensive skills and knowledge to the unique needs of every individual patient.

We believe in lifelong breast health, and our Center exists solely to ensure the highest level of breast health for our Northern Virginia and Washington, DC-area community.

Unlike other breast health programs in the area, the Reinsch Pierce Family Center for Breast Health offers patients all the medical, surgical and ancillary services they need in one location. With everything under one roof and a staff dedicated solely to breast health, the Center gives patients access to the best in specialty healthcare without having to travel to multiple locations or experiencing treatment delays.

Breast Surgery at the Reinsch Pierce Family Center for Breast Health is led by Stephanie R. Akbari, MD, FACS, who also serves as overall Medical Director of the Center. Dr. Akbari and her partner, Molly L. Sebastian, MD, FACS, all focus exclusively on breast surgery. Their dedication to performing only surgeries of the breast ensures patients of their unparalleled skill and experience.
